Content Policy

Effective date: 2026-08-17

This policy covers what you may and may not upload to FilmForge. It applies

alongside the Terms of Service.

The short version

Upload footage you have the right to use, of people who agreed to be filmed,

that is not illegal. That covers almost everyone.

Not permitted

You may not upload:

National Center for Missing and Exploited Children through its

CyberTipline, as United States federal law requires, and the account is

terminated permanently. There is no warning and no appeal.

depict someone sexually without their agreement.

music videos or commercial footage.

is required by law.

terrorism.

record of real events, or material intended to defraud.

Adult content

Sexually explicit material may not be uploaded, whether or not everyone in it

consented.

No person reviews your video - processing is automatic and your upload is

deleted when the render finishes. This rule exists anyway, because the

services this one depends on to operate (payment processors, app stores)

prohibit adult content outright, whether or not a human ever looks at it.

A note on authenticity

FilmForge produces an emulation. Its output has never been on film or tape.

Do not present it as genuine archive footage, a genuine historical record, or

material actually shot on Super 8 or VHS. Describing the output honestly is

your responsibility, and misrepresenting it may breach consumer protection law

as well as these terms.

Reporting

To report content that breaks this policy, contact SUPPORT_EMAIL_TBD with

enough detail to identify it. We review reports and act where a breach is

confirmed. Reports of sexual content involving minors are treated with the

highest priority and are passed to the NCMEC CyberTipline.

Enforcement

Where we find a breach we may remove content, refuse further uploads, suspend

or terminate access, and report the matter to law enforcement. Severity guides

which of these applies; child sexual abuse material always results in a report

and a permanent ban.
